Building false hope for Yeppoon hospital
Friday, 31 August 2007
Paul Hoolihan, (TMB 30/8/7) how can you suggest work will commence on the
Yeppoon Hospital in October? To date, no builder has been asked to view the
plans, let alone work out a quote. Even if the tender documents had gone out
(something that was supposed to happen a year ago), and a builder had been
decided on, work would be unlikely to begin until after Easter. But of
course none of those things has happened.
After 5 years, all we know is that a major Hospital in this rapidly growing
region will be downsized! If I become the Member for Capricornia, I will
work hard to ensure that the people of Yeppoon get the funding and services
they deserve - and they deserve better than 5 years of excuses and delays
from the State Labor government.
