Even an elusive tomato sauce bottle can't spoil lunch at the Brunny

The Brunswick Hotel does a pretty brisk noon-hour trade, so when the CQ Extra crew rocked up for a quick feed, we were expecting to wait a long time for our food. Fortunately, our expectations proved to be ill-founded.

I guess that's why the Brunswick (map), or the Brunny as locals know it, does manage to maintain such a steady lunch time clientelle.

Another obivious reason is the food. Now, I'm only writing from the tummy-grumbling perspective of a someone's who's eaten a burger. Usually, a burger here is the same as a burger there, but I'd have to say the meat in the massive Brunswick burger is so expertly spiced, that after you squash the giant morsel down and find a way to fit it into your mouth, the flavour leaps from the mince and makes mincemeat of your critical faculties.

Yep. It was a really good burger. Even the waitress' unfulfilled promise to return with some tomato sauce couldn't dampen my enjoyment.

I'd even go so far as to say that the site of my colleague (a certain metro-styled web designer with www.worldwidewebdesign.com.au ) wolfing down the Brunswick fish burger and for some reason attempting to pull off a Hungry Jack's TV ad pose was not enough to ruin my appetite.

The credit here all belongs to the Brunswick Hotel's tremendous lunch menu, and enjoyable back garden setting.

I don't think the Brunswick Hotel has a website, but if you want to learn more about them call (07) 4922 1389.
